Little Orchard in Catworth is the home of Golden Community’s growing health, wellbeing and support hub – bringing together community support, meaningful activity, social connection and nurse-led health and wellbeing services in one welcoming setting.
Our vision is to create a seamless pathway of support that can adapt as people’s needs change:
Support at Home & in the Community → Little Orchard Hub & Day Service → Six-Bed Nurse-Led Home
The aim is simple: to help people remain independent for as long as possible, while providing continuity, familiar faces and a trusted team when additional support is needed.
Our Little Orchard Community Hub is open and welcoming adults aged 18+
The Hub has been created as a place to connect, take part, maintain independence and enjoy meaningful time with others. We recognise that loneliness and social isolation can affect physical health, mental wellbeing and independence, particularly for people living in rural communities.
Our multidisciplinary team brings together registered nurses, support workers and activity coordinators, allowing us to look beyond a single need and support the whole person.
Activities and support can include:
• Day activities and social groups
• Meaningful activities, hobbies and outings
• Support to reduce loneliness and social isolation
• Health and wellbeing promotion
• Nurse-led wellbeing support
• Drop-in health and wellbeing clinics
• Homemade meals and refreshments
• Support for people living with frailty, dementia or long-term conditions
• Opportunities to maintain confidence, independence and social connections
This isn't simply somewhere to spend the day. Little Orchard is about belonging, purpose, health, wellbeing and enjoying life.
Our nurse-led team provides health promotion, proactive wellbeing support and opportunities for people to discuss concerns before they become bigger problems.
Our drop-in clinics and wellbeing activities help bring health and wellbeing support closer to the communities we serve.
Where concerns are identified, our team can provide appropriate advice and signposting and work alongside families and existing health and social care professionals where required.
The next stage of our pathway is our small six-bed nurse-led home at Little Orchard.
This part of the service is currently in development and is not yet open.
Our vision is to provide an alternative to a traditional large care-home environment: a small, familiar and homely setting with nursing support, beautiful communal spaces, private rooms and access to the wider Little Orchard community.
For people already supported by Golden Community, this will create the opportunity for greater continuity as needs change – familiar people, familiar surroundings and a team that already understands the individual.
We are currently welcoming enquiries and expressions of interest from individuals and families who would like to learn more about the six-bed home ahead of opening.
Golden Community was created around the belief that health, wellbeing and social care should not sit in separate boxes.
By bringing together community support, social connection, meaningful activity and nursing expertise, we can support people earlier, recognise changes and help individuals maintain their independence for as long as possible.
And if their needs change, our aim is for the next stage of support to feel familiar rather than frightening.
Golden Community – Be Family Again.
Our six-bed nurse-led home at Little Orchard is currently in development and will be opening soon.
With only six bedrooms, Little Orchard is intentionally small, providing a more personal, homely environment with the reassurance of a nurse-led team and connection to the wider Golden Community.
We are now welcoming early enquiries from individuals and families who would like to find out more, arrange a visit, discuss future care needs or register their interest in one of our six rooms.
Registering your interest does not commit you to a placement. It simply gives us the opportunity to get to know you, understand what may be important in the future and keep you updated as we move towards opening.
Interested in our Community Hub, Day Service or support at home? These services are open now – please contact our team to discuss how we can help.
Register your interest today and start a conversation with our team.
